Terms of Use
Effective October 16, 2026
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Jayden Watts ("we", "us"), who makes Friends Against Phones (the "app"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older, and able to agree to these terms. Your account is for you alone, signed in with your Apple account, and works on one iPhone at a time. You are responsible for what happens under it.
3. What the app does, and doesn't
The app uses Apple's Screen Time framework to shield apps while you focus, and counts the time you focus. It depends on iOS, which may change or fail; the shield can come off, an app can slip through, and a session can go uncounted. The app is a tool to help you and your friends spend less time on your phones. It is not a parental control, a security product, or medical or mental-health care, and it should never be relied on to keep you from an app you need, such as in an emergency.
4. Focus Time and trophies
Focus Time, rankings, streaks and trophies are for fun among friends. They have no monetary value, can't be exchanged or transferred, and may be corrected, for example when a session was not counted as it should have been or was faked.
5. What you share
Your name, photo, group names and group photos are seen by the people in your groups. You keep the rights to them, and give us permission to store and show them in the app for as long as they are there. Share only what you have the right to share.
6. How to behave
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Don't use a name, photo or group name that is hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, threatening or illegal, or that impersonates someone. Don't harass, bully or threaten anyone. Don't fake sessions, approvals or Focus Time, tamper with the app or its servers, get into others' accounts, or use the app for anything illegal.
7. Reports and removal
Report a person or a group from their page in the app, or write to jaydenwattsweb@gmail.com. We review reports promptly and aim to act within 24 hours. We may remove content, remove someone from a group, or suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, with or without notice. A group's owner can remove members from it, and you can leave any group.
8. Ending
You can stop using the app, and delete your account in it, at any time; the Privacy Policy says what is kept. We may change, suspend or stop the app, or your access to it. Sections 4, 9, 10 and 11 continue after these terms end.
9. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including that it will work without interruption or error, or that the shield will hold. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
10. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, time or opportunities, arising from the app or these terms. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota and of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to us so we can try to sort it out.
12. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is not responsible for any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as a third party beneficiary. Where these terms and Apple's standard licence agreement differ, these terms apply to the extent the App Store allows.
13. Changes
We may change these terms. We will update the date above and tell you in the app before a change that matters takes effect. Using the app after that means you accept the new terms.
